Lowcountry Highway: My interview with Cork Hutson, Part 2

My conversation with Cork Hutson of Brick House Plantation on Edisto Island. Brick House was the first manor house built in the US, circa 1725, and is a national treasure

The Brick House ruins on Edisto Island are a testament to continuity and survival, as are the members of the Jenkins family, who have owned the property since 1798. Cork is a direct descendent of the man who bought the property, the great-great-great-great grandson of Joseph Jenkins, and on this podcast Cork talks about the magic of the ruins and of the island, and puts historic preservation and strong family values in a larger context for us all. That’s Cork and me on his Brick House dock.
